Alena's research interests include cross-sectoral collaboration, lifelong learning and the third sector, civic engagement, empowerment, the reproduction of social inequality, the treatment of identity, diversity, and discrimination in the context of civil society organizations.
He is also interested in the comparative culture and learning of organizations.
She is committed to the development of anti-bias education in East-Central Europe, including the Persona Dolls method for preschool and primary education, in order to prevent bias and discrimination.
She seeks to bridge theory and practice based on more than 15 years of active participation in civil society organizations as a volunteer and staff member, including multilateral networks.
Alena Koák Felcmanová studied Civil Society Studies at Charles University's Faculty of Humanities (2013 - 2018, Ph.D.).
She earned a Master's degree in Adult Education/Lifelong Learning from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (2008 - 2011, M.A.) and a Bachelor's degree in International Area Studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University (2005 - 2008, B.A.).
She worked at the Centre for Integration of Foreigners, o.s. and People in Need, o.p.s., before that she volunteered at the Czech-German Youth Forum and other smaller organizations dedicated to Czech-German exchange and education.
